SSAFE Consult is an experienced Lao and international team established in 2009 to provide professional services in project consulting and management in the development sector in Laos in the following fields:

Environmental and Social Management and Monitoring Planning (EMMP and SMMP) and project implementation.
Sustainable Integrated Livelihood Restoration and Resettlement Planning and Management for project impacted communities.
Health and Nutrition Survey and Study by using a large number of indicators on the situation of children and women.
The team is highly experienced in preparing and managing projects to comply with international and national standards and guidelines. The comprehensive list of projects detailed below demonstrated that SSAFE personnel have led or participated in completion of, clearly demonstrate the capacity of the firm to meet the timelines and quality standards required by both clients and the Lao Government.

Bounma graduated BE Electrical in Russia.
Completed post-graduate environmental / social training in Norway.
After graduation he was promoted to Director EDL for Bolikhamxai Province. He has developed extensive and
in-depth practical experience at the field level with village communities as well as having senior level interaction with GoL agencies in social and environmental issues. He was transferred to Theun-Hinboun Hydropower Company to deal with compensation and environmental monitoring issues affecting local communities in 1996. He subsequently was promoted to assistant manager to establish the environment and social division in 2000 and became responsible for
implementing the livelihood restoration program for 5000 families in 63 impacted villages including a resettlement program as well as the long-term monitoring of environmental impacts.
Bounma developed produced and results that received wide recognition by international review missions and the ADB that are considered a model for other projects in SE Asia and he became Division Manager in 2003. In addition to Division Manager he subsequently plated a leading role in the social and environmental planning of the Theun-Hinboun Expansion Project. He left the company in 2008 to establish his own consultancy and project management practice that has been very successful as the list of completed assignments indicates. He is fluent in Lao, Thai, French, English and Russian.
